Ibiza on tour | ANTS at PW20 London preview

Saturday 29 February at Printworks London.

"Call pest control, there's an infestation in the presses!"

An extra day in February this year means an extra day to party. So, the ANTS colony marches merrily onto London. Just four months removed from its takeover of fabric, ANTS returns to the city on Saturday 29 February for an all-day stomp - and it is upscaling.

Printworks' cavernous Print Hall is the next zone of infiltration.

Ushuaïa's flagship underground party has been laying down tech beats since 2013. Let's take a look at the reasons to get excited about this next visit - the talent on display.

The debutant

Since launching in early 2017, Printworks London has attracted the crop of international DJ talent. Each series has presented a legend's hall of fame, from Jeff Mills to Paul Kalkbrenner, Moodymann to Norman Jay.

Unbelievably, there are still big names just to have the honour, including ANTS London headliner Erick Morillo.

We have many fond memories of Morillo's legendary Subliminal Sessions party on Wednesday nights at Pacha from back in the day. Ahead of its time, it went on to inspire the next generation of island residencies.

Soon after Subliminal came to an end, Erick's career and his health took a turn for the worse. It says much about his character that he was able to pull himself back from the brink and relaunch his career with new-found optimism.

Still chalking off firsts, Morillo's zest for life is underpinned by his unbridled love for the music. We can't wait to see dance music's Mr Happy play inside the Press Hall.

Brothers in arms

Should you still need an excuse to attend, look no further than our next pair.

Matthias Tanzmann and Davide Squillace are formidable DJs in their own right. Put them together, and you have one of the most intrinsic duos the underground has to offer. The German and Italian simply work incredibly alongside one another.

Whether as two-thirds of Better Lost Than Stupid with Martin Buttrich or as a tune-trading back-to-back partnership, sparks fly when they collaborate.

ANTS fans will not be strangers to either artist, but the opportunity to catch them bouncing off one another should not be passed up.

The ANTS men

Rounding things off and stamping a badge of authenticity, party residents Andrea Oliva and Francisco Allendes will also be travelling to London for the show.

Swiss DJ Oliva has been an integral part of the ANTS set-up since day one. A driving force behind the concept, in addition to being the man regularly charged with closing the party, he has helped shape the sound ANTS is known for.

Alongside him, South American export Francisco Allendes is a talent about to reach his prime. Last year, he was recognised in the Ibiza DJ category. The industry nod reflects his progress in the past few years.

Certainly, we could not imagine a season at Ushuaïa without these two flagbearers and we can't wait to see them do their thing on UK soil.

Printworks is sold out; however, anybody late to the action need not miss out. A super-stacked line-up for the ANTS After Party at E1 London has been announced.

Erick Morillo, Andrea Oliva, Matthias Tanzmann and Francisco Allendes will all be present, along with the addition of Eli & Fur. Doors from 22:00 to 06:00. The final allocation of tickets is on sale now.

After Printworks and E1, the ANTS bandwagon heads on a neon-drenched excursion to Miami Music Week on Sunday 22 March.
