Tamarama, relaxed dining in Santa Eulalia

Simplicity, freshness and informal dining.

With a new focus on evening only service, Tamarama brings its simplicity, freshness and informal laid-back atmosphere to the night time diner this season. Located by the marina in Santa Eulalia, this restaurant brings what it calls the spirit of the beach chiringuito to this pretty part of town. In fact, Tamarama is a well known surfing beach in Australia near where the owner grew up so the association has a strong backstory.

From its inception Tamarama has aimed to provide high quality service and to use the best produce available, with everything freshly made each day. You will find an eclectic mix of inspirations from various countries in the world which come from the life experience of the owner Luca Coleman. Here you'll journey through Mexico, Peru, Bali, Thailand and Luca's native Australia; the Mediterranean influence of cuisine from Ibiza and around is also present. The common thread is that dishes combine simple flavours to create interesting and authentic food.

Luca says: “I have lived all over the world and experienced lots of great flavour combinations and wanted to share those with others. I felt there was a lack of places on the island offering the different types of food, I had tasted, so I created Tamarama".

Head chef Damien has a wealth experience of working under and with some well-known British chefs, including Masterchef's John Torode and chef Tom Kerridge. He has also spent time as a personal chef and on cruise liners. With his own extensive travels, he brings an additional knowledge of flavours from the global food table.

Drinks are prepared expertly, using high quality spirits to create the perfect authentic gin and tonic. Or, you can sample margaritas made using only quality 100% agave tequilas. Wine focuses on the Spanish varieties with some international wines to broaden variety.

A great example of the kind of attention to detail the venue puts into what it does is expressed in its coffee, which borrows from the coffee culture of Australia. High end beans are hand roasted in small batches locally on the island by Cafés Meke. This is then expertly brewed for maximum taste and flavour. This is the place for a truly authentic flat white.

Luca concludes: “A lot of effort is placed into creating food and drink of the highest quality and nothing we do could be called average. Everything is inspired by amazing cultures, prepared with care with service to match".

For a taste of authentic and exotic flavours made with love, Tamarama should be on your destination list.
