The beautiful Cel Blau in the North of the island is a traditional finca that has been lovingly converted.

Renting a villa is a great option whether you are looking for a small ceremony for only you and some close friends or a big celebration with a larger number of guests.

Plus, if you choose to have both your wedding and the reception at the villa, you could save on the cost of hiring two separate venues. With flights, transfers and all the other wedding expenses to consider, this could be a welcome bonus.

From romantic and rustic to modern and glamorous, there is a huge variety of stunning locations and villas around the island to choose from. Read on to see some beautiful options where you could be saying, "I do".

First decisions

Estrella Roja with its stunning grounds and view.

Make a start by looking at our selection of villas for weddings, which frequently hold this type of special event. Not every villa on Ibiza will accept weddings, but these have all been vetted as ones that do.

Once selected, you will need to fill out the form at the end of the villa page to be connected to our partners, who will verify your booking. You'll need to give them an idea of what kind of celebration you want to hold as well as guest numbers so they can make a final check with the owners to see if they are happy with your plans.

Being clear on these details is important as some villas are licensed to host only the maximum number of people that a villa sleeps. It's also good to be aware that villas often levy an additional charge for wedding events.

If you plan on throwing a big bash, remember that there is a noise curfew at midnight. Alas, as you are on Ibiza, there are plenty of nightlife options to continue on with your celebrations elsewhere - but you might need to consider transport options, such as a private car service, if your villa is in a more remote location.

It might also be helpful to hire a wedding planner such as Ibiza Service Center to have someone with insider knowledge on the ground who can help to deal with local suppliers, paperwork, and other eventualities.

Finally, it's likely that not all of your guests will be staying at your villa, so you might want to look into renting an additional property or select a hotel from our hand-picked selection.

What type of villa?

On Ibiza Spotlight's villa pages, you can search by location - such as a specific resort - villas in the Ibiza countryside or properties near the beach. Many couples like to have their wedding pictures taken next to the sea, so the latter option is a popular one.

Via the photo galleries on each villa page will be quickly able to identify your dream wedding location. Each property has been thoroughly captured so you can see all the gorgeous details including views, decor, gardens, bedrooms, swimming pools and more.

To narrow the selection down further, you can also select filters such as size and budget.

The legalities of gettting married on Ibiza

To get legally married in Ibiza, at least one of the happy couple has to have been an island resident for a minimum of two years, or be of Catholic faith. Residents can get marrried in a civil ceremony at a local registry office, while members of the Catholic church can make their vows in a religious place of worship.

If this doesn't apply to you, another option is to get legally married in your home country and simply have a wedding blessing - and, of course, a smashing celebration - on Ibiza.

For more information on the legalities, head to our 'need to know' weddings FAQ section.
