Ibiza Gossip Girl Ch,12 - September

We head into the home straight of Gossip Girl's adventures this summer.

Ibiza workers everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief, the hard slog of the summer is behind us and we've entered into the home straight month of September. It's a mixed love/hate emotion as September is a great month for socialising, but everyone suddenly becomes all too aware that the season's end is swiftly approaching, as the closing parties begin.
And so I go to my first. The closing of ‘I Want My MTV' at Amnesia. The legend's that are Primal Scream performed their Sceamadelica album live, something I've been hotly anticipating since the beginning of the summer. And by God, it was epic, by any standards. The band are all fans of Ibiza, and regularly holiday on the white isle. I have to say, they sure looked delighted to be on Amnesia's stage.

I confess I expected it to be crammed to the rafters, like the opening with Snoop Dogg, but I can report it was comfortably busy leaving everyone room to dance the night away. This certainly applied for myself as I observed from the comforts of VIP and lost myself in the performance.
The night didn't end here, the aftershow held at Es Vive in Figuretes was also busy, but not too busy, and Andrew Innes from the band, still in his signature hat, Hawaiian shirt and (probably roasting in his) leather pants was spotted enjoying the attention... as you would!

The next day the band could be spotted still in celebratory spirits at swanky Blue Marlin in Cala Jondal, proving they still know how to party ferociously - and in style.

Fast forward to the following Friday I slipped into my flip-flops and went to the party of all beach parties on Talamanca Beach. Now this almost brought a lump to my throat as it encapsulated everything that Ibiza was and should be. A free event to celebrate twenty years of Ibiza Dance with music supplied by island veterans including Miguel Garji, Jose M. Ramon and brothers David and Toni Moreno and the atmosphere was incredible. Cue a fire show, consistent cheering, hundreds of sparklers... it had the island hippies and Ibiza locals out in full force. From all walks of life everyone congregated, united in the pleasure of music, to dance in the sand, under a twinkling sky, overlooking the sea, just wow!

Ibiza is truly one of the most amazing islands you will ever encounter. Its beaches, parties, diversity and people will forever remain locked in my heart. I just wish it was a longer season... I'm not ready for it to end yet!
Until next week.
