After a few years away from the island, Patrick Topping’s Trick is making its Ibiza comeback, and it’s arriving just in time for the final stretch of the season.
The Newcastle-born DJ and producer brings his label and party series to 528 Ibiza in the Benimussa Hills on Friday 2 October, joining forces with former collaborators Electric Ibiza for a one-off date during the closing-party frenzy.
For Topping, it marks something of a return to familiar territory. Having built his reputation around the rawer, rolling sounds of tech house, the Geordie has recently been reconnecting with the sound that first put his name firmly on the Ibiza map.
Along the way, he has also become an important figure in the next generation of UK electronic music. Now, Trick returns with a lineup that continues that tradition.
Joining Topping are Holly Hutch, James Poole, Tre Reynolds and Us Two: four names who have been steadily moving beyond their respective UK scenes and onto increasingly international dancefloors.
James Poole is a prime example of an artist whose hard work behind the scenes is beginning to pay dividends. Having spent years developing his production style, his tracks are now finding their way into the sets of heavyweights including Marco Carola, PAWSA and Joseph Capriati. One thing that is for certain is that his set is most likely to be 90% unreleased bangers by the man himself, and trust me theyre worth hearing.
Then there's Us Two, who first caught wider attention after winning the ANTS Next Gen competition in 2024 as a brother duo. The project has since evolved, with Grant Gordon now singlehandedly leading the charge. In only a handful of years, he's gone from making music in his bedroom to playing some of the world's biggest clubs, a pretty rapid rise by any measure.
Tre Reynolds brings another distinct flavour to the bill. A serious studio head, Reynolds has carved out a reputation for rolling, groove-heavy tech house and is particularly known for his inventive edits of bangers you may have forgotten about. Hailing from the north of England, his profile has been steadily growing as his productions continue to circulate through the underground.
Completing the lineup is fellow Geordie Holly Hutch, bringing a welcome dose of feminine energy to an otherwise male-heavy bill. Hutch has enjoyed a particularly strong Ibiza season, with appearances for Mas Tiempo and Claptone among other island highlights.
After several years off the island, Patrick Topping clearly has some catching up to do.
