As the last one of the 5 municipalities on the island, San José now also invites its residents to a massive antigen test screening.
It is held from Thursday till Sunday this week (4 to 7 February), in the Can Guerxo sports centre in Sant Jordi.
The tests are being carried out voluntarily and free of charge to all those persons over 16 years of age and residents of the municipality of San José, being mandatory to present an document of identity. It is not necessary to make an appointment, the attention is being made according to the order of arrival, although the elderly and people with reduced mobility have priority.
To organize the screening, the municipality has been divided into two zones. Zone 1 includes the entire northern part, which includes the Poniente coves from Cala d'Hort, the towns of Sant Agustí, the entire area of Cala de Bou, Sant Josep and Benimussa.
Zone 2 goes from Es Cubells to the threshold of Ibiza Town, to the south; inside, it includes all residents from Can Pep Xica to Sant Jordi and it surroundings, including Playa d'en Bossa, San Francisco and the entire area of Ses Salines.
The population of these two areas have one working day and one on the weekend to participate in the screening. Thus, the inhabitants of Zone 1 are able to go to Can Guerxo on 4 and 6 February; those in Zone 2 are able to do so on 5 and 7 February. The hours in which you can go to participate are from 10:00 to 18:00 h on Thursday and from 9:00 to 18:00 h the other three days.
For the days enabled for screening the population in Zone 1, a special bus service has been organized that will operate on a circular route with departure and destination in Cala de Bou and also stops in Sant Agustí and Sant José. The first bus will leave at 9:00 h from Avenida de Cala de Bou and there will be a new one every hour and a half approximately.
The Sant José City Council also wants to thank the involvement of the taxi sector, which has offered to pick up older people and people with mobility problems and take them free of charge to the Can Guerxo sports center.
